HBPD's 'Shop with A Cop 2018' Brings Joy to OVSD Students, Families

Harbour View student with Officer Christie The Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD) annual “Shop with A Cop” event grew to 48 Huntington Beach students in 2018. All of OVSD’s elementary and middle schools were able to participate this year. The event included students from local school districts and more than 60 HBPD officers volunteering to take students for breakfast, followed by shopping at Target, and a visit to see Santa. After shopping, students enjoyed cookies and hot chocolate with an ocean view thanks to the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. Transportation to and from the Hilton was provided by our OVSD Transportation Department.Spring View student and HBPD officer in Target

All of this is made possible by the HBPD, Mr. Tony Nobles and the Nobles Family Foundation, donations, and volunteers. Mr. Nobles and his family not only host the activities each year, but he attends and makes sure that each student is able to provide gifts for family members. OVSD schools work together with the HBPD to select one to two students from each school to attend. What a wonderful way to partner in our community and celebrate the meaning of the holiday season! We appreciate the generosity of Mr. Nobles, the HBPD, and everyone involved.
