Welcome Back - OVSD Prevention Plan & Student Symptom Decision Tree - August 30, 2021
Dear OVSD Parents,
When students return to in-person learning with traditional schedules on September 8, OVSD will be implementing multiple strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
OVSD will adhere to the guidance set forth by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). The CDPH advises that the surest path to safe and full in-person instruction for schools is a strong emphasis on the following: vaccination for all eligible individuals; universal masking in schools which eliminates minimum physical distancing and allows all students access to full in-person learning; more targeted quarantine practices which keep students in school; and adherence to a robust COVID-19 testing program as an additional safety layer.
New this year will be a modified quarantine for qualifying individuals. In addition, OVSD will provide free testing at schools for students that have been identified as a close contact of someone that has tested positive for COVID-19.
