Bringing the Stars to Oak View

OAK VIEW ELEMENTARY TO HOST MOBILE SOLAR SYSTEM ON CAMPUS

Immersive Experiences, Enriching Field Trips, Inquisitive Students –

They’re All A Part of Mrs. Landero’s Plans as Principal

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA, November 29, 2018Oak View Elementary students cannot blast through the solar system just yet, so why not bring the solar system to the students? Oak View Principal Jenna Landero, who started in her new role this fall, is providing Oak View students in grades 1-4 with a special assembly beginning at 8:30 a.m. on November 30 in the Family Resource Center gymnasium, located next to the Oak View Elementary campus. Mobile Ed Productions, Inc. is bringing its SkyDome Planetarium, which is a giant inflatable dome that takes students on a 45-minute journey through the solar system. They will see the stars as they appear in the Northern Hemisphere on that day, and they will learn about Greek mythology and the related constellations. Watch the video demonstration here!

According to Mrs. Landero, “One of our priorities at Oak View is to give our students immersive activities to build knowledge, experience and opportunities that our children may not have otherwise. We want to teach our students to be engaged, inquisitive learners, to foster a love of learning, and tap into a curiosity that will extend well past their years here as Oak View Owls.”
