The "T" in STEAM

As part of the Lake View STEAM program, we have focused on introducing the children to different platforms of technology, such as coding, robotics, 3-D printing, and graphic design.  Most recently, we were able to get the Video Recording Studio up and running.  This studio includes a green screen, video, audio and lighting equipment, and an editing computer so that the students are able to create higher quality videos than a typical smartphone.  Students in fourth and fifth grade apply to be a Technology Ambassador, which creates the Monday Morning Videos for the whole school to view.  Mrs. Goodwyn, the school principal said “the students are excited about working in the studio, creating videos, and learning the whole process from beginning to end.  I see students concentrating on making the video perfect and smiling after all their hard work is complete.”  The Video Recording Studio has taken the mundane daily assignments to a completely new level.
