Welcoming Winter: Music, Literacy and Physical Activity

Authors Day speaker at Hope View Hope View Elementary School welcomed in the winter season with a well-rounded program. It began with an exciting holiday show and a field trip. Kindergarteners and Transitional Kindergarteners performed at Marine View Middle School before a packed gymnasium of enthusiastic family members and staff.

In January, all classes continued to take part in academic lessons with a laser-like focus on authentic literacy and engagement. Additionally, several extra-curricular activities created excitement on campus and in the community. Skate Night was a huge success, as students from all grades participated in a fun and healthy night of exercise and good times.

For the Huntington Beach Central Library’s Authors’ Day, we welcomed two professional authors on campus to talk about their writing experiences with the entire student body (see photo). Students enjoyed the stories shared by the authors and were treated to a puppet show.

Most recently, Hope View families came together for a pizza night at our local pizzeria, raising over $800 to support school programs, including the purchase of Chrome Books.
