Harbour Happenings

  • Hundreds of grandparents and family members joined us in November for our annual Grandparents and Special Persons' Day. It was our pleasure to share the great things we are doing with our most loved ones. We sang and signed. We drank and ate. We shared and laughed. This event reminds us every year that we are family (as sung by our 5th graders)
  • In the Ocean View School District, the social emotional health of our students is a top priority. So, at Harbour View, we partnered with the folks at the New York Life Foundation and the Coalition to Support Grieving Students to learn more about what we can do to support kiddos in crisis for Childrens' Grief Awareness Day. Today, our student support team met to discuss what's out there

  • We have FABULOUS people at Harbour View. Seriously! Our Fall Spooktakular Fundraiser wrapped up with some big hearts and hands donating all they've got to our school.  Our volunteers organized the baskets, teacher time buckets, decorations and so much more. And our community outreach for this fundraiser is huge - without our dedicated parents, this would not happen. Each and every dollar we raise (and we raise tens of thousands!) at this event pays for our amazing field trips, enrichment assemblies and engaging programs such as Meet the Masters (and many more)
  • Our kiddos participated in The Great American Shakeout.  It’s the largest nation-wide earthquake drill where millions of students take cover and practice their safety skills - all on the same date at the same time

  • At Harbour, we believe in a well-rounded experience. So, our 4th and 5th grade students participate in electives, an interest-based choice class once a week. We're keeping their minds sharp and their hearts in the game, and we love what it does
  • Who said character building is just in the classroom?! Not us! Our friends at BMX Pro Trick Team joined us today to talk to our kiddos (and show off their skills) about being kind citizens, perseverant students and big dreamers at our first character-building assembly of the year
  • Meet the Masters started in September.  It’s a standards-based art curriculum taught by professional artists 🎨 who explore the artistic works of art masters from past and present. Our PTA-funded dollars pay for our art pro to expose our students to the world of art through the lens of different genres and modes
  • Harbour View families came out to Rita’s for a few sweet treats and a lot of sticky fun. And Principal Harris was scooping!
