Dear OVSD Community,

What an incredible first week of school we’ve had! The beginning of the school year always brings a mix of excitement, nerves, and joy, and this year was no exception. As I walked through our schools this week, I was so encouraged to see students and staff settling back into routines they know and love. Students were hugging friends, waving to past teachers, and already diving into new learning experiences. The energy on our campuses has been inspiring, and it’s a wonderful reminder of the strong, connected community we share here in OVSD.

For our families with students in TK through 6th grade, I want to assure you that we are continuing to onboard additional staff in order to reduce our childcare waitlist. We know how important these services are for many families, and we are committed to expanding access and supporting you as best we can.

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for making the start of the school year such a success. We look forward to building on this strong beginning and creating a year full of learning, growth, and memorable experiences.
