The California State Preschool Program (CSPP) definitions of eligibility based on age are as follows:
· CSPP eligible four-year-old children are defined as children who have their fourth birthday on or before December 1, or a child whose fifth birthday occurs after September 1, whose parent or guardian has opted to retain or enroll them in a CSPP.
· CSPP eligible three-year-old children are defined as children who have their third birthday on or before December 1. Children who have their third birthday on or after December 2, may be enrolled in a California State Preschool Program on or after their third birthday.

The goal of Oak View Preschool is to provide 3-5 year old children with a developmentally appropriate program that encourages the intellectual, social-emotional, language, physical and creative development of each child. Through planned activities for large and small groups and individuals, children gain the English language and school readiness skills to prepare them to enter kindergarten ready to access the curriculum.
Ocean View School District is committed to the vision of every child entering school ready to learn. Knowing that parents are important partners in their children’s education, the District desires and expects parents to be actively involved at Oak View Preschool as parent volunteers. Parents are encouraged to participate on the Parent Advisory Committee. Staff development and self-assessment are vital to ensure ongoing program improvement. A comprehensive self-study is conducted annually, and results are used to make program improvements. All preschool staff members are encouraged to take classes in early childhood education, attend workshops, conferences and staff trainings to im-prove their skills for working with children and parents.
The 27th Annual Report on the Conditions of Children in Orange County compiles indicators across four interdependent focus areas: Good Health, Economic Well-Being, Educational Achievement and Safe Homes and Communities to highlight trends in how children are faring.
