Assistant Principal's Welcome Message

  • Welcome to the 2021-22 school year I am honored to serve you as Mesa Views’ Assistant Principal.  I look forward to working with and getting to know you. Working together, I am confident that we will continue to provide our students with a truly rigorous and enriching school experience.  Mesa View is a special and unique community of which I am proud to be a part.

I’ve been with Ocean View School District, for the past 4year.  Before I moved to Ocean View  I was in the Cypress School District where I was a teacher and a district-wide teacher on special assignment.  I was able to use my leadership skills in district Professional Development that focused on Thinking Maps and Diverse Learners.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from CSULB.  I continued my education and received my Master's Degree and a teaching credential from Whittier College.

On a personal level, I live in Long Beach with my Husband Ray and my three children Kaylee 22 who now living on her own and working in the fashion industry.  Brayden 17 is finishing up as a Senior at Los Alamitos High School and is looking the next step of college.  Makenzie 15 who is a Sophomore at Los Alamitos High School, loves makeup, family time and currently loves dancing for the high school and doing Ariel dancing on silks.  We also have quite a few pets Tank our dog, a Ball Python, a rabbit, two turtles, and two lizards.  When we are not at home, we love to go camping, fishing, listening to Country Music, or spending the day at Knott’s Berry Farm.

The middle school years are important and critical times for students. What happens during these years will have a lasting impression on their growth and development. My goal as Assistant Principal is to provide the leadership that will facilitate a school environment that is safe and respectable, in order for your child to receive the best possible academic instruction. I am confident that Mesa View will continue to be a place where our students can learn and grow both academically and socially.

I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your child.  Feel free to stop in and say hello, as my door is always open. If there is anything I can assist you with, please let me know.

    Yours truly,
    Isis Ortiz
