Assistant Principal's Welcome Message

  • Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,

Welcome back to school Eagles! It is with much excitement as I continue serving as your Assistant Principal in the 2023-2024 school year.  Mesa View has a strong reputation in academic achievement and excellence, and I am thrilled to be able to work at an outstanding school where collaboration, innovation, equity, and relationships are at the forefront of dedicated teachers, staff, students, and parental community. This year we will continue to focus on what truly contributes to a thriving learning community, and that is connections. Connections with our students, our staff, and our parents. Relationships matter and have proven to be at the root of learning experiences and in  building lasting memories

We have quite an exciting year ahead as we transition to our interim site, and with this, changes and new experiences along the way. I will be here to support our students during this journey and maintain an open-door policy. One of my favorite parts of working at a middle school is supporting students in building positive connections to school, and in helping to support their personal paths as they discover their own unique selves. Students, this year, I encourage you to “get connected.”  Delve into electives that fuel your passions, try out for a sport, join a club, consider leadership opportunities. Get to know all members of our learning community. This is the time in our life when you will begin to learn to advocate for yourself. Connect with your teachers, share how you learn best, and when you may need support. Lastly, connect with your peers. Create study groups, forge positive friendships, and look for opportunities to spread kindness through our campus. Lead by example, and remember to do the right thing when no one is watching and always try to leave a space better than when you found it.

My 19 years in education have been working within the Fountain Valley School District and Huntington Beach City School District as an upper elementary teacher, Student Support Coordinator, and instructional coach and mentor with the Cotsen Art of Teaching Foundation. This experience offered vast professional development and side-by-side learning across all subject matter, 21st century learning, growth mindset, student engagement, and addressing the social-emotional needs of our students.I hold A BA in Journalism, and a MS in Curriculum and Reading. With these foundations in place, my passion for supporting teachers, helping children to see their potential and find their personal best, and re-imagining the potential of a school community has flourished.

During my spare time, I love to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Running, beach volleyball, camping, reading, and yoga are a few of my favorites, as well as hosting game nights, going to the beach, sipping on a cup of coffee. However, my absolute all-time favorite is to spend as much time as I can with my family.

My door is always open, I welcome your input, feedback, and look forward to building connections and a culture of care together this year. Go Eagles!

    Warmly,
    Venus K. Moeller, Assistant Principal
