What an honor it is to serve as the Assistant Principal of the Vista View community for the 2021-2022 school year. I am thrilled to call myself a Vista View Falcon! This will be my 16th year with the Ocean View School District, and my first year serving as a middle school administrator. Over my teaching career I have served as a teacher and an administrative designee at Lake View, College View, Westmont and Virtual Academy with much experience focusing on GATE and STEAM focused education. I am excited to bring my experience, training and leadership to this remarkable staff, student body and community. I am at heart an educator who believes in the ability of kids to rise above expectations, and the power of teachers to be the most influential catalyst for student success.
A bit about me… I am a local! I was born and raised in Orange County. My parents are retired Ocean View School District teachers, and met while both teaching at Spring View. I attended Estancia High School in Costa Mesa and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduating I was hired by the San Diego Padres, where I worked in corporate marketing for three years. I then decided I wanted to change paths and pursue a career in education. I earned my teaching credential, masters degree and administrative credential at California State University, Long Beach and feel lucky to have been a part of the Ocean View family for my entire career. My husband, Jon and I met while undergrads at UCSB. We have two children, Abe (10) and Maeve (8) and enjoy camping, hiking and playing at the beach together. We also have a very sweet boxer named Simon. During my free time I enjoy coaching soccer, doing pilates, reading, gardening and exercising my creative muscles… I can DIY with the best of them!
I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to serve as your Assistant Principal this year and I can’t wait to meet each and every one of you.
