Westmont Elementary Visual & Performing Arts School
Westmont Elementary Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) School welcomes all students in preschool through fifth grade! We offer a rigorous academic curriculum with arts education integrated throughout the school day. Westmont students thrive and achieve in a dynamic, inspiring learning environment that empowers them to be responsible, creative individuals in school and beyond.
In fall 2019, Westmont students and staff are excited to move back to a newly modernized campus as part of the Ocean View School District's $169 million school modernization program. Our school will house a beautifully upgraded multi-purpose room, modern classrooms and furniture, safety fencing, and more. View visual renderings of the Westmont campus. Our permanent campus is located at 8251 Heil Avenue in Westminster, near Heil and Beach Boulevard.
We are home to the area's only elementary band program, a unique opportunity for upper grade students interested in flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, or percussion instruments. In 2018, Westmont became the first elementary school in the area to offer this program for fourth and fifth grade students. Our staff worked collaboratively with the Orange County Department of Education to pursue a funding opportunity from Buchanan Street Partners, who generously provided Westmont with a $50,000 Buchanan Music Matters grant.
Our professional education staff teaches arts instruction in visual arts, music, theatre, band, and dance. Explore our new VAPA brochure with detailed information about our arts program, and then give us a call to schedule a visit. We're now enrolling for fall 2019! Please visit air.ovsd.org to begin the enrollment process.
If you have questions, please feel free to call or visit our office, which is located at our Interim Campus during the 2018-2019 school year. The address is 7721 Juliette Low Drive in Huntington Beach.
