Degrees and Certifications:
I grew up in San Juan Capistrano with my mom, dad, three brothers, and one sister. My dad built me my first tool bench in the garage when I was three. I have always enjoyed building things at a very young age. My dad and I would watch the TV programs "This Old House" and "The New Yankee Workshop". In seventh grade I took my first wood shop class where I made a spice rack and my mom still has it! While in high school, at Dana Hills, I was able to take wood shop again where I constructed some favorites of mine: a baseball bat, magazine rack, and a breadbox.
Besides wood shop I have always been involved in athletics. In high school I played football, soccer and baseball. In college I had the privilege and opportunity to play football at Saddleback Community College and from there at the University of Southern California, go Trojans!! In addition to woodworking and sports, I love to travel with my wife and three children. We like to visit our National Parks. Besides traveling, I enjoy reading and the outdoors.
I have been teaching at Spring View since 2005 and have enjoyed the opportunities and challenges with each new year. I am happy to be teaching Woodshop all day this year. Being involved in a wood shop education will provide students the confidence and skills that will last a lifetime. With the skills that are developed they will be able to imagine, create and safely turn an ordinary piece of wood into a thing of beauty. In this class students learn the skills to problem solve, persevere, and be creative.
