Classified Employee Grant
Classified Employee Grant Program
Overview
We are happy to announce that the Orange County Department of Education, in collaboration with Ocean View School District, will once again accept applications for the Classified Employee Grant Program. Classified employees who are currently working in Ocean View and who would like to pursue a career as a teacher are encouraged to apply.
The Classified Employee Grant provides approximately $3,500 per year to selected applicants. The grant is not a stipend. The purpose of the grant is to help offset the cost of completing educational plans. Selected participants will be reimbursed for approved expenditures after they have submitted an invoice/proof of payment for approved expenditures. Approved expenditures may include: tuition, books, testing, and other academic support services.

One major goal of the program is to support all participants to pass both the CBEST and CSET in a timely manner. Therefore, an online course has been created and will be offered through Feather River College. All qualifying participants will be expected to enroll in this course. If participants have passed CBEST and CSET and are in the second half of the credential program, they will be required to enroll in our online course at Feather River College, focusing on the RICA and CalTPA. There will be no charge for either course.
