Notice of Provisional Appointment To the Ocean View School District Board of Trustees

Pursuant to Education Code Section 5092

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT a vacancy occurred on the Board of Trustees of the Ocean View School District, effective June 10, 2026, as a result of the resignation of Trustee Jack Souders. On June 22, 2026, the Board of Trustees provisionally appointed Jennifer Rank to fill this vacancy. The appointment confers all powers and duties of a governing board member.

The registered voters of the district may, within 30 days from the date of the provisional appointment, petition for the conduct of a special election to fill the vacancy. Unless a petition calling for a special election and containing a sufficient number of signatures is filed in the office of the Orange County Superintendent of Schools, 200 Kalmus Drive, Costa Mesa, California, not later than July 22, 2026, the provisional appointment shall become an effective appointment. The person appointed shall remain in office until December 11 and shall be afforded all the powers and duties of a Board member upon appointment.
