Your child is being asked to take part in the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) sponsored by the California Department of Education and paid for through Tobacco Use and Prevention Education (TUPE) funds. The survey results provide the District and individual schools information on student perceptions of safety and school connectedness which assists schools with evaluating school climate and prevention activities. The survey will be administered at your child’s middle school beginning June 3, 2019.
Students do not have to answer any questions they do not want to answer, and may stop taking the survey at any time. No names are recorded or attached to the survey forms or data. The results will be made available for analysis only under strict confidentiality controls. The results from this survey are compiled into district and county-level CHKS reports. If you would like to review a copy of the CHKS, it is available for viewing in the school office. If you have any questions, please contact your school site administrator.
