What do I need to do to become a substitute teacher in your District?
Posted by:To teach in our District, you must have a teaching credential or an Emergency 30-day Substitute Teaching Permit. Fingerprints must be cleared by the Orange County Department of Education prior to employment.

How do I get an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit?

What is CBEST?
Posted by:California requires that you must demonstrate proficiency in basic reading, writing and mathematics skills in English by passing the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST). You must take the CBEST if any of the following conditions apply to you:
• You are applying for a first teaching credential or service credential.
• You are applying for the issuance or renewal of an Emergency Permit.
If you have not taught during the prior 39 months, regardless of the credential you hold.
You are applying for admission to a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) approved teacher preparation program. -
How many days do employees receive for jury duty?
