'Paw Prints' by Luka
I recently welcomed five fellow dog trainees to tour the campus, with teacher Holly Sjogren, Principal Paul Kraft, and trainers with the Guide Dogs of America.
These other dogs visited playgrounds and classrooms, while showing the students their skills which will lead to them becoming guides for those who are blind.
They will be able to attend “Puppy College” once they are 18 months old. The puppy college is a 6-month training process where they learn how to be guides and learn how to behave. Sjogren said that it’s similar to how the students in school practice their good behavior!
It was so neat seeing the students learn how to pet a guide dog as well.
See you soon!
