Dear Virtual Academy Parents/Guardians,
We are so excited to welcome you to the Virtual Academy for the 2020-2021 school year. You have made the choice to participate in the Virtual Academy for this school year, and it is our commitment to you to support your decision and implement the best program possible for your child during these challenging times of uncertainty.
At the Board Meeting on August 25, 2020, the new administration for the Virtual Academy was announced. Lori Florgan, Jamie Goodwyn, and Isis Ortiz will be overseeing the implementation of the program for the 2020-2021 school year.
Lori Florgan - Mrs. Florgan is transitioning to the Virtual Academy from her position as principal of Golden View Elementary School. She has been an administrator for two years in the Ocean View School District, two years as an administrator in Capistrano Unified school district previously, and was a classroom teacher for 18 years. Mrs. Florgan loves building relationships with her school community, encouraging creativity and innovation, and leading her students and staff through positive encouragement and inspiration.
Jamie Goodwyn - Mrs. Goodwyn is transitioning to the Virtual Academy from her position as principal of Lake View Elementary School. She has been an administrator for 8 years in the Ocean View School District and in education for 18 years. Mrs. Goodwyn has a passion for innovation, building community, and ensuring that the social-emotional needs of our children are being addressed.
Isis Ortiz - Mrs. Ortiz is transitioning to the Virtual Academy from her position as assistant principal of Mesa View Middle School. This is her third year as an administrator here in the Ocean View School District, she was previously in the Cypress School District as a TOSA and classroom teacher for 19 years. Mrs. Ortiz has a passion for instilling the love of learning in students, and building relationships with families to help meet the needs of all our students.
We look forward to interacting with you and your child(ren) during the school year. More information will be coming out in the next few days about the first day of school.
