Grade Information

Grades will be based on the following criteria:
- Daily Homework – See chapter calendars, parent signature is required before the test (unless Math 7 or Math 8 students have perfect "OK" stamps)
- Quizzes
- Chapter Tests – If a student does poorly, the chapter tests may be retaken. Students must turn in a permission slip signed by a parent/guardian, along with a corrected review assignment.
- Cumulative Exams – Comprehensive tests will be given after every few chapters.
Grades will be weighted to reflect an accurate depiction of student progress:
8th Grade: 50% Test, 20% Quizzes, 20% Homework/Practice, 10% I-Ready/Notes/Other
7th Grade: 50% Test, 20% Quizzes, 20% Homework/Practice, 10% I-Ready/Notes/Other
Quizzes, Tests and Cumulative Exams will be given during class. Cheating will not be tolerated and will result in a score of zero on the exam or assignment. (See BP 5131.9 and AR 5131.9) Copying, talking, using technology, switching papers, using cheat sheets, are all observable and definable indicators of cheating. As all possible unethical behaviors cannot be addressed here, it will be left to our discretion to decide whether academic dishonesty has occurred. All conclusions will be reached using rational thought and consequences will be fair and unbiased.
