Hello Oak View Owls, today is Wednesday, December 11, 2019. We are so excited about this school year! We are excited to continue growing, learning and having fun by embracing more hands on activities, field trips, immersive assemblies and engaged learning. Our Robotics program is being expanded into fourth grade this year! In collaboration with our community partners we are honored to have AYSO Region 143 coming out to play, teach and coach our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes soccer at lunchtime every Tuesday. We continue to collaborate with the FRC, Mariners and Branches churches, the Assistance League of Huntington Beach, KIWIN's at Marina High, Boeing, and our Cuddle Up and Read volunteers to bring more opportunities to our students.
Our new gym is ready for us to use! We have many exciting events planned for our Owls. This year we will also be starting an after school theater arts program for our 4th and 5th grade students as well as tap and hip hop dancing for different grades!
Oak View is fortunate to have a strong, hard-working PTO comprised of the following members: Mrs. Adriana Reyna, President; Ms. Diana Garzo, Vice-President; and Ms. Jadira Lopez, Treasurer. There are many opportunities to volunteer at Oak View and we need your help! Please see the front office for more volunteer opportunities.
We would like to welcome our new office manager to the Oak View Team...Cathy Opperud! She comes to us from Pleasant View and we are excited to have her here. We also continue to have our bilingual/bi-literate front office staff which includes: Mrs. Vilma Aponte School Office Clerk; Mrs. Angie Kessler, Health Technician and Mrs. Sherri Medrano, our Community Liaison.
We look forward to a successful collaboration this school year!
