At the California School Personnel Commissioner's Association 2013 Annual Conference, the Association honored two individuals from Ocean View for their dedication to the Merit System and the classified service.

Daniel Gooch, current Ocean View Personnel Commissioner, was honored with the Distinguished Commissioner Award for his 15 years of service to Ocean View School District.

Robert Lee, former Ocean View Director of Classified Personnel from 2000 to 2012, was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership to CSPCA in recognition of 30 plus years of service to the organization and support of the Merit System.
