What is an Early Kindergarten (EK) Program?
Early Kindergarten (EK) provides students turning five between December 3, 2021 and March 1, 2022 a jumpstart in developmental readiness skills prior to entering Kindergarten in the fall. Participation in an EK class helps children develop the academic, social, and emotional skills necessary to be successful in Kindergarten and beyond.
EK uses age developmentally appropriate TK curriculum. The design of the class affords students a modified TK experience. EK is typically offered at one school site. It starts the first school day in January and ends the last day of school in June.
Early Kindergarten students will develop important skills in:
- Language, Literacy, and Language Development
- Physical Development
- History and Science
- Social Emotional Development
- Environmental Science Program
