My name is Wyndi Garcia and I am so pleased to be teaching in Spanish again here at Harbour View…. I truly believe it is THE future and being bilingual is crucial to success in our growing global community. 

Here’s a little about me… My first teaching job was in 1993 in Mexico at a Dual Immersion School!  All three of my own children attended Dual Immersion Schools from starting in Kindergarten to high school and are bilingual and biliterate in Spanish/English. We live in San Clemente and love to travel, especially to Mexico!

I have worked here in OVSD for almost 30 years. I am proud of the district's commitment to innovative programs at each school site. Dual Immersion is our latest launch.  We have k-3rd here at Harbour View and will add a grade each year.  I teach 2nd grade.  We follow the same curriculum and state standards in both languages. We speak Spanish 70% of our day.     

In our program, we not only teach students to speak, read, and write in Spanish, but we also strive for a bilculturalism. We study other countries and traditions so that our children are equipped with a true understanding of what it is to be a global citizen!
