Greetings Vista View Families!

My name is Daryth (pronounced Dare-ith) Morrissey. I am entering my 29th year as a teacher. I have been at Vista View the entire time, well, I go home and stuff :).

I love my job. I do. I am the teacher I always wish I had. I value each child and hold them all in my heart.

I have taught 6th through 8th Science and Math. I added my Single Subject Science Credential several years ago. 

I now teach 7th Science, Marine Biology and  Environmental Science/Gardening. This is a schedule that fits me perfectly!

I have my Coastal California Naturalist Credential from UC Davis.

I usually spend my summers volunteering as a Naturalist on local whale watch boats explaining all the marine mammals we have off our Southern California coast. I have also spent three seasons working as a Naturalist on a cruise line doing the Inside Passage to Alaska. 

I volunteer for Ocean Defender's Alliance as boat crew working to pull marine debris/ abandoned lobster/crab pots out of the ocean.

I am on the board of two local non-profits: The American Cetacean Society and Amigos de Bolsa Chica.

In my spare time, I love to just be outside, whether it be walking, gardening, or reading.
