Students learn that being a good friend is when you care about someone, and show empathy. When you are a good friend with someone, you can be yourself. You can share your true feelings and you enjoy being around that person. A real friend is trustworthy and if you make a mistake, your friend will not make fun of you.
Golden View is a unique, open plan school, classrooms with one wall, both in structure and philosophy. It was designed to support the instructional program through large and small open spaces. This structure promotes the easy sharing of teaching strategies, ideas, and materials. Golden View is the only open plan school remaining in the Ocean View School District. Many students attend our school through open enrollment and inter-district transfers to take advantage of this unique educational program and setting.
Golden View is home to the Student Environmental Learning Facility (S.E.L.F.) or otherwise referred to as our farm. This two acre fenced area of our campus has farm animals (sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, turkeys, ducks, geese, turtles, and rabbits) and a garden bed for each classroom.
Golden View has an extraordinary staff dedicated to providing a safe and engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking and academic excellence for our students. Closing the achievement gap between our variety of learners in reading, writing and mathematics is our focus, as well as our commitment to providing all Golden View students with the academic and pro-social behaviors that will be the foundation of their present and future success.
