Star View Considered for
Distinguished School Award
Ocean View is extremely proud that Star View is being considered for the prestigious California Distinguished School Award. In order to be invited to apply for Distinguished School honors, schools must meet a variety of eligibility criteria including designated federal and state accountability measures based on the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and the Academic Performance Index (API) requirements.
Star View met all the requirements and was approved to move forward in the selection process. On February 2, they received a validation site visit by representatives from the CDE and OCDE.
Schools selected for recognition as Distinguished Schools will be presented with a 2012 Distinguished School plaque and flag at ceremonies to be held in May. Golden View is also being considered for a California Distinguished School Award and will be receiving their validation visit from CDE on March 7th.
